50 Forward- Beethoven’s Ninth Revisited

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Eisenhower Auditorium with a special concert on Friday, April 25, 2025. The program includes Festive Overture by Quinn Mason, blue cathedral by Jennifer Higdon, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, performed by the Penn State School of Music choirs and orchestra under Maestro Gerardo Edelstein.

The event also celebrates Maestro Edelstein’s twenty-five years of conducting and mentoring at Penn State. Featured alumni soloists include Julia Wolcott (soprano), Lisa Marie Rogali (alto/mezzo-soprano), Kyle Tomlin (tenor), and Michael Hanley (bass).

A pre-concert benefit reception at 5:30 PM at the Verne M. Willaman Gateway of the Life Sciences will feature hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Ticket packages, priced at $200, will support student engagement and success in the arts. Proceeds fund workshops, residencies, and performance opportunities for students.
